MOBX 2017 presentation
Defense against the Dark Patterns.
Design is a very powerful tool. While it can be used for good it’s also often used to persuade users to do what you want them to do: click a link, subscribe to a newsletter, buy your products. But because you can doesn’t always mean you should. As a designer it can sometimes be difficult to push back against these practices. In this talk you’ll learn how to identify the different types of Dark Patterns, see how they’re even sometimes used by designers with the best intentions and learn how to convince your boss that they’re bad for business.
